About the Oratory
The New Brunswick Congregation of the Oratory is a community of Roman Catholic priests and brothers who embrace the spiritual path of St. Philip Neri. It is a life rooted in personal and communal prayer, humility, fraternal charity, and Christian joy. While the Oratorian way began during the Sixteenth Century, our particular Congregation was formally established by the Servant of God Pope John Paul II, on September 8, 1998. The members of the Congregation serve in Catholic campus ministry at Rutgers University, at St. Peter the Apostle Parish and at St. Joseph Parish, New Brunswick. Associated with the Congregation is a vibrant community of lay people called the Secular Oratory.
The New Brunswick Oratory offers various opportunities for prayer, formation, and education as we seek to further strengthen the Catholic laity in their faith and mission. Our events and activities are open to everyone. For more information, please see the calendar of events or contact us.
As an independent, autonomous Oratorian house, we are responsible for the formation and seminary education of our members, and we must be financially self-sufficient. The New Brunswick Oratory is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are always appreciated, and are tax-deductible. To make a contribution, please contact us.
