About the Oratory

The New Brunswick Congregation of the Oratory is a community of Roman Catholic priests and brothers who embrace the spiritual path of St. Philip Neri. It is a life rooted in personal and communal prayer, humility, fraternal charity, and Christian joy. While the Oratorian way began during the Sixteenth Century, our particular Congregation was formally established by the Servant of God Pope John Paul II, on September 8, 1998. The members of the Congregation serve in Catholic campus ministry at Rutgers University and at St. Peter the Apostle Parish, New Brunswick. Associated with the Congregation is a vibrant community of lay people called the Secular Oratory.
